Frequently Asked Questions:

I only need royalties paid out.
You have your own Accounting Software, but it won’t handle royalty distribution; or you don’t have time to keep up with all the changing state royalty distribution and withholding laws; Associated Resources can take care of that for you with very little effort on your part. We have a client that we have been distributing third-party revenues only for them since 2001.

Don’t know what you need?
Don’t worry!  The staff at Associated Resources knows what you need whether you are just starting your company, acquiring leases for drilling prospects or making acquisitions of producing properties. They have experience in most oil and gas producing states and are experienced in getting needed information from state entities.

Can you do it all?
We have many clients for which we handle their full accounting duties from Accounts Payable to Financial Reporting and dealing with external auditors. These companies rely on Associated Resources to provide quick response to ad hoc report requests to make management decisions.

What about my historical data?
Our Oil and Gas Software uses SQL database for storage of data and can easily upload information from other systems and formats. Data from your current system can be transferred electronically to our system so that reports can include your historical data.

How are checks and deposits handled?
Associated Resources tailors the check handling process to the desires of each client.  Some clients have all cash receipts and cash disbursements (Accounts Payable and Revenue checks) go through their office for signature and mailing. Others have receipts and disbursements go through ARI’s office. In such cases, a pre-check list is emailed to the client for approval before disbursements are made. ARI can print checks that draw on an account of the client’s or can set up an agent account for which we have signatory authority. Upon approval of the pre-check list, the client would transfer the funds to cover the checks into ARI’s agent account. At all times ARI maintains segregation of duties and requires proper approvals on invoices to maintain controls.

What if I want to see the source documents?
Associated Resources’ integrated imaging software gives you two ways to view scanned images of documents including Accounts Payable invoices and revenue check remittance detail from third-parties. One way is to go to an entry or inquiry screen where the document was entered into the Accounting Software, choose the desired entry from a list and then click on the “Images” button on the screen. The other way allows you to search for a document based on Accounting Date, Production Date, Service Date, Vendor, Purchaser, Well Name, Well Number or many other criteria. You are allowed to narrow your search based on multiple selection criteria at one time.

How do you charge for your accounting service?
Associated Resources has many clients who choose to be billed on a per property per month basis. Different amounts are charged based upon whether the property is operated or non-operated or whether it’s a mineral interest or override. A property may be a well or a unitized property with many wells. There are also volume discounts. This allows the client to determine the incremental cost for Accounting services when they are evaluating acquisitions.

Other companies choose to be billed by the hour. ARI has a standard rate sheet for personnel based upon their position and the work being done. A few clients even choose to be billed based on the number of transactions processed each month. You choose the billing method that you are most comfortable with.
